CREACION DE LIBRO EN EL 4TO CONGRESO DE JUVENTUD

Proyectos jóvenes serán puestos en papel y tinta por Peace Child International. Los editores de la asociación buscan entrevistar jóvenes involucrados en proyectos relacionados con los Objetivos del Milenio. Reseñas de los proyectos conformaran los diferentes capítulos de un libro, el cual se pretende publicar y presentar a las Naciones Unidas el próximo 25 de Septiembre. Cada capitulo, sera dedicado a uno de los Objetivos del Milenio, sin embargo, se incluirán otros capítulos que contengan temas como; corrupción, trabajo juvenil y el desarrollo de nuevos conocimientos. Dana Podmolikova, dijo “hemos estado trabajando en el libro por varias semanas, ya tenemos algunas contribuciones, sin embargo el Congreso es una maravillosa oportunidad para conseguir el material que nos hace falta.”

La misma información utilizada en la creación de este libro, será usada por UN Habitat para definir las especificaciones de un nuevo fondo de apoyo para proyectos creados por jóvenes. La presentación y convocatoria de este fondo serán efectuados en Noviembre durante el 4to Foro Mundial Urbano en Nanjing, China. Cerca de 1 millón de dolares serán utilizados para apoyar proyectos entrepreneur, creación de vivienda, salud y sustentabilidad hambiental. Doug Ragan dijo, “Estamos buscando historias y proyectos que puedan ser patrocinados.” Los resultados finales de la convocatoria se darán a conocer en la primavera del 2009.

Putting Projects on Paper

Successful youth projects will be put to paper. Peace Child international and UN Habitat are working together to gather information from projects that are aimed to achieve the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.
Short summaries will be made to explain how youth associations are being developed. The publishing team is gathering the data during the Congress. Dana Podmolikova said, “We have being working on the book for several weeks and we already have some contributions. To us, the WYC is the best place to get the interviews and get exactly what we want.”
Every chapter of the book will be focused on one of the MDGs; however, other topics such as corruption, skills building and youth employment will also be written . The Peace Child international book will be presented in the UN meeting of Social Civil Societies on September the 25th.

The information gathered for the book will be used by the UN Habitat, to set the initiatives for the launch of the World Urban Forum 4. Doug Ragan said, “We are gathering stories and projects that can be found.” The WUF4 will fund young initiatives that involve entrepreneurial projects, housing, health and environmental issues. About $1 million US will be used for funding. The funding application will be launched on November in Nanjing, China. The first grant recipients will be announced in spring 2009.
